3 Tips When Picking Out Fabric
2) Avoid Pilling
Rub the fabric sample across your leg while wearing jeans. Look at it very closely and at all angles. If it starts to look hairy, it will start to pill later.
1) Delicate Fabric
If you have pets, children, or like to wear decorative back pockets on your pants or shorts, you may want to steer clear of fabrics that like to catch.
3) Thin Fabrics
Thin fabrics tend to show every slight bump of the inside (padding) of the furniture even though you cannot feel it. If you are a person that notices those things, steer clear from thin fabrics.

Quick Overview About Leather
Many lower-cost leather variations are from "top coat leather." It is common for top coat leather to flake off over time due to lower durability and quality of the product. Top coat leather is not to be confused with "top grain leather" - the grain describes the part of the hide used while the coat refers to the type of application used.
Top coat is found on split hides. Split hides do not have the top grain portion of the hide. Top grain shows more imperfections than a split hide does, but top grain leather is higher quality than top coat, which makes it the strongest and most durable part of the hide.
Top grain is best suited for upholstery as it lasts much longer than split hide leather. The split hides tend to crack more easily and generally have a life of five years or less. Split hides are more suited for clothing and accessories as they are not subjected to different wear and tear, and generally don't last as long as the hides used for furniture.
Most of the options we offer are semi-aniline leather instead of top coat leather. Some of the leathers we carry have a Crypton finish to protect the beauty of the surface area, and extends the life of the leather. Crypton finish is:
-
Stain and water resistant
-
Anti-bacterial
-
Bleach cleanable – you may clean leathers with a bleach solution, even with distressed leathers, as long as the solution contains no more than 10% bleach.
-
Environmentally Friendly
